Tamarapreye Michael is a web developer and an emerging legal/ tax professional with a strong passion for tax law, business innovation, and technology. Her tax interests are international tax law and policy, general corporate tax, and tax deal advisory. Her work bridges the gap between law and technology, allowing her to contribute meaningfully to both fields. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria (UNILAG) with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and obtained her legal practice qualifying certificate (BL) from the Nigerian Law School with First Class Honours. As a web developer, Tamarapreye has worked on multiple projects and has dedicated herself to teaching frontend web development at Africa Agility Foundation, empowering women in tech; Algobase, teaching children; and Techance Foundation, teaching women and children.
Beyond technology, she has a strong foundation in tax law and public legal education. During her LLB program at UNILAG, she developed a keen interest in taxation, choosing Law of Taxation as an elective course and actively participating in the activities of the UNILAG Tax Club, where she engaged in meaningful tax discourse and research. She also served as the Public Relations Officer and General Secretary of the Justice Oputa Students’ Chambers, where she led the Law to the Layman initiative – a program designed to educate the public on their rights and provide access to pro bono legal services. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Director of Communications at Emmanuel Onyeabor Tax Initiative (EOTI) where she also contributes as a frontend web developer, supporting its mission to advance the field of tax and support the development of aspiring and growing global tax professionals. Her involvement with EOTI aligns with her passion for simplifying tax concepts, fostering thought leadership in taxation, and expanding access to quality tax education.
With a strong foundation in law and technology, Tamarapreye is committed to leveraging digital solutions for legal advocacy, tax education, and business innovation. She deploys her considerable skillset in web development, tech mentorship, and legal initiatives to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools required to successfully navigate the intricate relationship between law, technology, and business.
