Rouna Erhieyovwe is an experienced tax professional with expertise in risk mitigation, tax advisory, and market entry strategy. With a strong direct and indirect tax background, he excels at identifying and estimating exposures, developing solutions, and implementing risk mitigation strategies. Throughout his career, Rouna has demonstrated proficiency in documentation, report writing, and interacting with government ministries, tax authorities, and customs administrators on tax and policy issues. He has a proven track record of preparing market entry reports and designing tax compliance manuals for multinational corporations (MNCs) covering various tax areas.

One of Rouna’s key strengths is coordinating and collaborating with teams across different jurisdictions. He has delivered numerous client engagements, ensuring their success while adhering to regional regulations. Additionally, he has contributed to regional publications, sharing insights and expertise on tax matters.

Rouna takes pride in his aptitude for identifying knowledge gaps and designing training materials for clients and internal use. By addressing these gaps, Rouna has significantly improved the performance of lower-level staff and facilitated a culture of continuous learning within organizations. His legal and tax career cuts across several big consulting and big law firms in both Nigeria and the Netherlands. Rouna has worked at Andersen Tax Nigeria, PwC Nigeria, and Banwo & Ighodalo – a magic circle commercial law firm in Nigeria that won the “Nigeria Tax Firm of the Year” award at the International Tax Review (ITR) Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Tax Awards 2023. He is currently a Senior Tax Specialist at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands. He was most recently a Tax Lawyer at Crowe Foederer in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands.

Asides his professional achievements, Rouna holds an Advanced Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Tax Law from the University of Amsterdam. Rouna also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Rivers State University in Nigeria. He is fluent in English and has a limited working knowledge of French.
