Michael Nwanneka is a Senior Associate in the Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Tax practices of ALN Nigeria | Aluko & Oyebode – one of the largest integrated law firms in Nigeria providing a comprehensive range of specialist legal services to a highly diversified clientele including top tier Nigerian, international, and multinational clients.

Michael has extensive experience providing transactional support in different critical sectors. He also has broad legal and commercial knowledge including experience at KPMG in Nigeria where he worked with teams providing specialized corporate tax advisory services and designing tax and regulatory advisory, compliance, and management solutions. He worked with teams delivering locally and globally direct and indirect tax projects for several clients in various industries and sectors of the economy.

Currently, he advises on various mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and divestments, as well as significant equity and debt capital markets transactions.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and an Affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom. Michael is also recognized in renowned global legal directories such as the IFLR1000 and Legal500 for providing exceptional transactional support on numerous landmark deals.

Michael consistently makes valuable contributions to law practice in various areas such as professional client services, pro bono services, corporate social efforts, thought leadership, mentorship, amongst other key areas. In his spare time, he enjoys taking road trips, reading locally and internationally authored fictional works, and catching an episode or two of his favourite sitcoms.
