Maximillian Chijioke Nwankwo is a purpose-driven young legal professional with a strong passion for taxation and finance practice. He is particularly interested in general corporate tax, international taxation, energy and projects, tax deal advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets practice. Maximillian holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria (UNIZIK), where he graduated top 4% of the best performing students in his class and received an award for top performance in the Law of Evidence. He also recently completed his legal practice qualification program (BL) at the Nigerian Law School. Beyond his professional legal pursuits, Maximillian is skilled at legal research writing, editorial review processes, and organizational people management.

During his time at UNIZIK, Maximillian served as an Editorial Board member of the UNIZIK Law Review, where he actively engaged in extensive editorial research writing. He also served in various student leadership capacities, including service as the Secretary-General of the Business Section of the Skill-up Program organized by the South-East Directorate of Programs, Projects, and Policies of the Law Students’ Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN). Maximillian benefits from various practical exposures to legal and tax practice, including internship stints at fast-rising Nigerian startup law firms, where he gained valuable exposure to the practical intricacies of taxation law and policy. He is developing expertise in providing solutions-based investment advice to savvy investors seeking to break into new markets, with a view to helping them make informed investment decisions that yield optimal returns.
