Kelechi Ibe is a seasoned corporate and tax lawyer with over eight (8) years of experience. His expertise encompasses Taxation, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Finance, and General Corporate Advisory. He has played a pivotal role in advising on high-profile transactions within both the Nigerian and international markets.

Presently, Kelechi serves as a Senior Associate at Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie – a magic circle law firm in Nigeria. His prior experience includes working in the Deal Advisory and M&A Tax unit of KPMG in Nigeria. He also completed a distinguished secondment at Latham & Watkins in London, United Kingdom (UK), through the International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) Flagship Secondment Program.

Kelechi is actively involved in the legal community as the Secretary of the Taxation Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Business Law. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and a student member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.

His contributions to the legal profession have earned him several accolades. He was a nominee for the Future Awards Africa Prize for Lawyers – an award recognised by Forbes as “Nigeria’s Most Important Youth Award” and by the World Bank as “the Nobel Prize for Young Africans”. Kelechi is also ranked as a “Rising Star” in both the General Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricing categories on the International Tax Review (ITR) World Tax Practitioners Rankings 2025. His exemplary career was further acknowledged when he received the “Lawyer of the Year” award at the 2022 CEOs Network Africa Awards. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Kelechi co-founded The GreenRidge Foundation, Africa’s pioneering technology-focused non-profit. The Foundation leverages technology to connect small business owners with corporate law firms, providing pro bono corporate legal services to help these businesses thrive and continue to serve as economic catalysts in emerging economies like Nigeria.
