Kamsiyochukwu Dame Umeh is a driven and results-oriented individual with a strong academic background and a passion for contributing to a just and equitable society. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with First Class Honours from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria (UNIZIK). Kamsiyochukwu’s academic journey has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a dedication to developing strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
During her LLB program at UNIZIK, Kamsiyochukwu thrived in various student leadership roles, demonstrating exceptional organizational and people management skills. As Deputy Chief Registrar of the Law Students’ Association (LAWSA) Judiciary, she played a crucial role in supporting the smooth functioning of the LAWSA High Court, working closely with the LAWSA Chief Judge and Administrative Judge to ensure efficient court operations. Her dedication and hard work were recognized with the prestigious “Best Judiciary Staff of the Year” award by her peers at the LAWSA Judiciary.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Kamsiyochukwu actively engaged in extracurricular activities at UNIZIK. As Vice President of the International Law Students’ Association, she successfully secured the first-ever club scholarship for three members to participate in the 32nd edition of the Christ of Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition, demonstrating her commitment to student development and international collaboration. As Chief Liaison Officer of the UNIZIK Tax Club, she effectively leveraged her people management skills to collaborate with the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (ASIRS), securing up to ten internship placements for UNIZIK students. Her subsequent role as Director of Research at the UNIZIK Tax Club allowed her to delve into the intricacies of tax law, fostering a deep understanding of the evolving tax landscape in Nigeria.
Kamsiyochukwu is a highly motivated individual with a strong desire to build a successful career in taxation. Her passion for contributing to the tax community endeared her to the Emmanuel Onyeabor Tax Initiative (EOTI), where she currently contributes as the Lead Media Research Officer for the Media & Publicity Team, actively participating in brainstorming activities to improve EOTI’s visibility and enhance its media reach. As she pursues her law practice qualifying certification program at the Nigerian Law School, Kamsiyochukwu remains committed to continuous learning, professional development, and building meaningful connections within the legal and tax communities.
