Esther Anyaeru Ogbu is a dedicated legal researcher focused on corporate finance, taxation, and policy development. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with First Class Honours from the University of Nigeria (UNN), where she developed expertise in legal research, statutory analysis, and corporate governance. Her legal education and vocational training at the Nigerian Law School, where she earned her legal practice qualifying certificate (BL), have equipped her with the skills relevant to analyzing financial regulations, tax policies, and business compliance frameworks.
Esther’s research experience spans both academic and professional settings. As a Research Assistant at the UNN Faculty of Law, she conducted extensive legal research on environmental law, corporate taxation, and regulatory compliance. She further led a policy research team in her role as an active member of the UNN ADR Society, which analyzed Nigeria’s Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023 and produced technical reports that contributed significantly to academic discourse and legal awareness on the subject. Esther has gained practical experience through internships at research-focused Nigerian institutions like LawPavilion Business Solutions, S.G.S Otto Solicitors & Co., and the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Abia State, Nigeria. In these roles, she conducted legal analysis, drafted contracts, and assisted in case law documentation. Her ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable insights has made her a valuable contributor to topical subjects in legal practice and legal technology development.
Beyond her accomplishments in research and legal practice, Esther has demonstrated strong leadership qualities through various initiatives she has driven and supported. She served as the first female President of the Winners Campus Fellowship at UNN, where she coordinated mentorship programs, career development seminars, and community-based advocacy campaigns. Additionally, as a student member of the University leadership body during her LLB program at UNN, she collaborated with the UNN Student Affairs Department to improve student engagement in governance. Esther is deeply committed to volunteering and social impact initiatives. She has worked with The Green Society, UNN on climate change awareness and participated in public advocacy through the Advocates Movement, UNN. Her dedication to societal development reflects her passion for employing legal knowledge to drive positive change. With a keen interest in corporate finance and taxation, Esther is committed to influencing policies that promote economic growth, financial accountability, and regulatory efficiency. She continuously seeks opportunities to contribute to legal research, corporate governance, and tax policy reform.
