Emenike Omeye is a London-based Managing Associate at Sidley Austin LLP, where he advises clients on capital markets and leveraged finance transactions across Europe and the United States (US). He has significant experience advising corporates, private equity sponsors, lenders and other investors on a wide range of debt and equity capital markets transactions, leveraged buy-outs, financial restructurings and general US securities law matters.

Prior to joining Sidley Austin LLP, Emenike was most recently a member of the US Corporate Finance team at A&O Shearman in London, UK, guiding corporate, sovereign, and financial institution clients in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on IPOs and other equity offerings, investment-grade, high-yield and convertible debt financings, private placements, and liability management deals. He benefits from a strong background in tax matters, having spent his earlier career years with leading law and professional consulting firms in Lagos advising on Nigerian and international tax laws.

Licensed as an attorney in the State of New York and in Nigeria, Emenike holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nigeria, where he was President of the Students’ Bar Association. He is also an alumnus of Columbia Business School’s Emerging Leader Program.
