Dr. Jonathan Brathwaite is a seasoned international tax expert and thought leader. He is Founder & International Tax Advisor at Mithril International in Bridgetown, Saint Michael, Barbados. He has over twenty-one (21) years of extensive cognate experience in international tax planning, general corporate tax, and trusts and estates taxation. Jonathan holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree in International Taxation (2024) and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Tax Law (2019), both from the University of Florida in the United States of America. 

Jonathan’s doctoral thesis explored the implications of user generated data, network effects, increasing returns, a highly networked economy, and dynamic non-linear economic processes on international tax norms. He argued that international tax norms need to be updated as they are based on economic principles that rely on unrealistic assumptions. Jonathan also holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mathematical Finance from the Imperial College, University of London in the United Kingdom (UK) (1999). He further holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business & Computing from the Brunel University of London in the UK (1997) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Wolverhampton in the UK.
