Athanasius Akor is a Senior Associate (Tax) at EY Nigeria. He was most recently a Senior Associate (Tax & Disputes) at G. Elias & Co., a top-rated commercial law firm in Nigeria with its head offices in Lagos. His legal practice focuses on tax and commercial disputes resolution. His tax specialties include general corporate tax, tax controversy, and consumer and industrial markets tax.

Athanasius holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with First Class Honours from the University of Nigeria. He also obtained his legal practice qualifying certificate (BL) with First Class Honours from the Nigerian Law School.

Athanasius holds memberships of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He is also a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), where he is completing the final stages of his professional certification requirements.

Athanasius is President at Emmanuel Onyeabor Tax Initiative (EOTI), where he oversees the general administrative functions and activities of the EOTI Executive Council.
